Integrating Biology and Maths in education.

NCSB is about to launch web-based, basic educational modules on:
- Modelling for biologists.
- Biology for mathematicians.
After testing the beta-versions of these modules by PhD-students and Postdocs, it will be released as open-access educational material on a dedicated website.

In this context it is worth to know that a special issue will be published in CBE-Life Sciences Education (an open-access journal of the American Society for Cell Biology) on the topic of Mutualism of Biology and Mathematics. In this issue progress will be examined on incorporating quantitative skills into biology courses and biological examples in maths courses.
This special issue will become available at www.lifescied.org on 2010 September 01.
