On October 21 and 22, the Netherlands Consortium for Systems Biology will have its second annual symposium. Many biological phenomena re-appear in diverse biological systems ranging from yeast cells to tomatos to mice. Therefore NCSB encourages that technology and insights developed in systems biology approaches are shared and developed across the boundaries of biological and methodological disciplines.

This year we focus on four biological phenomena that are of interest to most of the NCSB researchers: pattern formation, metabolism, gene networks and signalling. Each of these four themes is introduced by a keynote speaker, followed by three to four talks by PhDs and postdocs. Keynote speakers will include Malcolm Bennett, Dan Beard, and Hans Lehrach. Matthias Reuss - the distinguished visiting scientist grantee - will give an evening lecture on multiscale modelling.
